REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: Cochran saw Bigfoot watching crane worked by three loggers. Next day all three saw it at same time; dft Bigfoot walked quickly away from them

Got the following email from roark@eoni.com Regarding your Hood River County page; July, 1974: The incident reported by you and various others, including "In Search Of" with Leonard Nemoy didn't quite get the situation right. I am J.C, Roark's (Rourke) brother and just to help a little with the truth: J.C. never saw a "Bigfoot". He saw something going through the brush. It could have been anything the size of, or larger than, a big dog. Fermin, my aunt's husband, was somewhat notorious among his friends and family for the yarns he could spin (in fun at others or himself). I was never aquainted with Jack Cochran. I have at least a dozen relatives who in that period of time and before spent tens of thousands of hours each in the forests of Hood River County, not as tourists or "communers" but as people who's work and/or passion made them,in contrast with the vast majority of people's abilities, expert woodsmen. Not one reported a sighting or a track. All of those people chuckled, and those still around still do, at that story. I don't belittle your opinions on this subject nor do I claim that there are no Bigfoots, but just felt that I ought to make one stab at setting the printed record straight. Fermin has passed away, but if you are interested in contacting J.C., I will forward your address to him.. Les Roark
