Description of event: Witness' granddaughter Elaine and friends were swimming at the dam near Chiloquin last weekend (Sat., July 21st) when towards the evening all of a sudden the crickets and frogs stilled their mating noises, and she could smell a strong odor...Not long back while foot-hunting near Saddle Mountain near Beatty the hunting party also heard loud screams...almost like a big bear she said...there are no big bears down there.
