REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: I was about six or seven years old when this happened, but I remember what happened very well, like yesterday. Summer was winding down, though the nights were still humid and sometimes hot and sticky. The smell of fresh cut grass was in the air, harvest time was here, the hay had been rolled into neat straight lines to be bailed soon.

My brother, and a friend and I were out in the field playing, around 9:00pm in the fields out back, the cucumber's were beginning to rot in the garden, so we used these for a good, fun game splat!*smile*. Well everyone had a flash-light, so when I didn't see flashlight beam's anymore I figured they had gone into hiding in the field, the rows of hay were easy to hide between, being about 12 or 14 inches high. Well after searching for maybe an hour or so, I gave up the search, and decided to walk the half mile or so back home. It was the type of night that was dark, but still allowed you to see darker objects at a distance. Anyway as I was walking along about halfway home, I thought I heard something from some distance away, needless to say I stopped and listened, I heard nothing for sometime, then I heard the sound again, I've seen elk, and stray cattle, many times around our home so I wasn't spooked, and besides, could be my brother or his friend walking off to side a little, and getting closer to me. Flashlight in one hand and rotten cucumber in the other I stood ready. The first thing I noticed was a smell, it was terrible, have you ever had your dog roll in something dead, thats exactly the smell I remember, the type that sticks inside your nostril's. Whatever it was, was close.

That's when I turned on my flashlight. "The hair is rising on the back of my neck, and goose bumps are rising on my arm's even as I write, even now, almost twenty five year's after the incident".

For what the light revealed wasn't my brother, nor his friend. It wasn't an elk or dear either. There in front of me, standing on two legs was, what I now believe to be a Sasquatch. This is how I would describe it. It was huge, at the time I would have said 10 or 12 feet, now being older, and able to judge thing's more correctly, I would put it at around 7 feet. The head Look some-what pointy, with shaggy hair hanging from it, the cheeks had less hair, patchy covered, the jaw protruded something like a apes, but was more blocky on chin then an ape, at least those I've seen in zoo's. I couldn't see a distinguishable neck, the head seemed to set directly on it's shoulder's. It's shoulders were quite broad maybe 4 for feet or better, the torso and hips were somewhat less broad, continuing down to it's feet. The arms seemed longer then what a human has, a few inches above the knee's. The hair on it's body looked to be varying, from 3 or 4 inches, to vary long. It was the eye's that really caught my attention though, in the flashlight beam they glowed back at me, like twin red embers, going out for a moment then blinking back into existence. They were quite frightening to me. We stood starring at each other for what must have been only a few seconds, though it seemed alot longer.

Suddenly it fell between two rows of hay, trying to hide, but I could still partially see it, then it made this noise, it wasn't a scream, it was a hi pitch cackle, and the sound of it made me turn cold. I've heard some audio's of bigfoot noises the last few years, and some of them are very like what I heard. At the sound of the cackle, I took off running for home as fast as i could go, when I got there and ran, inside, white as a sheet, and trembling.

There setting at our table, was my brother, and his friend, neither were breathing hard, and I know they couldn't have outrun me home without me hearing or seeing them. "It was no joke, and the most shocking thing that has ever happened to me".

Activities of Witness: Just kids having fun playing a game.

Other Notes: I got the sense that the creature was very angry with me.

Other Other Notes: I believe my brother had a incident, if I can get him to talk, i'll add his story.

Ten years later I had another encounter, but different from the first, I'll send it in time to you.
