Description of event: Met a retired logger (who walks with a cane, the result of a logging accident) who told me that when he was a young man he and another young fellow liked to explore the caves and old mine shafts in the Bohemia district. He said that on one occasion they found huge human like footprints in the mud floor of an abandoned mineshaft. There was, he said, an inch or so of water on the mineshaft floor. They followed the prints a couple hundred feet back down the shaft, then thought better of it and left. When he questioned who could have made the prints his buddy said something like," I know what made 'em. It was a big ape. I seen one once".
