REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: The story I am about to tell you is second hand information from my mother but I have been to the sight several times. My great uncle Boyd Johnson was a trapper/miner back in the 50's-60's. He was an honest man who fought in World War II in the battle of the bulge and witnessed many different countries and jungles. after the incident he was quoted as saying "In all my life I have never heard such a scream, It made the hair on the back of my neck stand up." My uncle was in the apple orchards near Kilarney Lake road next to the Coeur d' Alene river checking his traps at night. My uncle said he got out to check his traps and heard a loud shreaking scream. He froze for a moment and grabbed his single shot .22 rifle which he carried with him while checking his traps. Again, he heard the loud scream and became somewhat frightened and got back into his truck. My uncle told my mother that this went on for approx. 10 minutes before he decided to leave the area. The next morning my uncle went back to the area to investigate the noise and check his traps. Down near the river he found multiple bipedal tracks. I know there was molds taken and photographs but are not sure what happened to them. My uncle passed away of cancer back in 1984 but his wife, my mothers oldest sister is still alive and my have further information. I was really young but this is the story I remember being told.
