Location: We were staying at the Lone Fir resort.This is near the Ape cave/Lava canyon rec area.

REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: We had arrived at the resort that Friday which was April 20th, 2007. We woke early Saturday morning with the intent of visting the Lava Canyon Rec Area. Well that day went pretty uneventful, being that the road to Lava Canyon was closed. So instead we trekked thru the Ape Caves with our family. We returned to our cabin at the resort took a nap, and had a late dinner. Well afterwards, we all just sat around with the kids playing board games and, being that there were several of us in the cabin, I decided to step outside because it was rally warm in the room.
Well when I stepped out I heard two dogs barking, which was not a big deal. But I then began to hear a very deep and intense moan, or something of that nature, coming from the woods across the hwy and it just kept building in volume and all the while the dogs are just barking uncontrolably! Well about this time I called my husband out to listen to what I heard. Well He just stepped out when it then began again and it just keeps getting deeper and deeper in volume. My husband looked at me and I looked at him and I said to him I think that we are seriously hearing the calls of a bigfoot!
My husband and I have been in the woods hiking and camping for many years and we've heard the normal forest sounds: coytes, elk, cougar, owls, wolves, bears, etc...but never have we heard anything of this nature and, though it only lasted for a good 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, it gave me chills. I have never in my life heard anything like this before. Well as I searched thru several recordings tonight I found that very same sound on this site. It sounds just like the Ohio recording but a lot deeper in volume. I hope that we can get back up to the area because I would love to hear that sound again,but hopefuly I can have some sort of recording device to capture the sound.It was very exciting while it lasted.
