REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: Lying asleep in bed I was awakened by what at first souded like a dog being tortured. I layed in bed for several minutes just listening. The screams were pattern like with screams and then yelps. Five of the six of us in the cabin were awakened, each listening for several minutes before getting up to investigate.

My husband got up in time to hear a loud thud as if something was being thrown against the cabin. We later noticed a tennis ball had been "relocated". By this time the resident in an ajacent home had come outside along with my husband. The security guard arrived in his golf cart and shone his headlights into the trees which caused the noise to stop. The neighbor said that he thought it was a ring tailed cat [editor: coon?]and had heard it before. He also has two large dogs whom he said had chased out after it once but came running back. They did not react to the sounds in the woods that night. I did not hear a single bark.

The next morning I spoke with one of the campers in another cabin and she said that her black lab acted strangely, that he did not growl or bark but was somewhat submissive acting. One person thought maybe it was an animal being killed but it was a repeated pattern of sounds that was not spontaneous as if something was being killed. The screams were very loud and high pitched. After the screaming had stopped, I remembered watching a research program on, I think Discovery Channel where some researchers had recorded screaming sounds that were unable to be identified by sound experts. The screams we heard that night were almost the same and in the same high pitched voices.

Hearing the screams on this website makes me think what we heard was a Bigfoot. I came home from vacation to look up Ring Tailed cats and couldn't find anything that suggested that this is what we heard.

The 6th person in our cabin had trouble falling asleep that night feeling like he didn't want his back to the large window. Like he was being watched. Sort of creepy after what we heard that night.
