REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: I was bow hunting and saw what I thought was a bear. It was on the ground about 70 yards away and doing something. I stalked it within 40 yards and was watching it as it turned slowly and spotted me. It was then I realized this was a two legged animal.

It was squatting on the ground and eating a rabbit. It gave a start when it saw me and then sqarbled a scream grunt like sound and stood up.

It was taller than me by at least a foot and I am 6'3" tall so this thing had to be over 7' tall.

After it stood up and screamed, it threw the rabbit towards me and turned and went into the timber. It moved at a normal pace but was gone in a flash.

I looked at the rabbit and saw that its neck was stretched and its head was mangled as well several large bites were taken out of the hind legs and back area. I waited to think about what was happening and if I was wrong on what I just saw.

I then began to follow it and saw some tracks in the dust and they looked man/animal cross, like curled toes with artheritis. The few prints I could see were about two and a half times the width of my own and about three times the length of my own. There was a strong odor in the area but about the same srength as the smell of a grizzly bear only the smell itself was like a rank much needed bathed ass. I went into the timber to try to follow and possibly shoot and bag the animal for evidence and discovery of a new species but never saw it or heard it again. Also I remember no other sounds in the area like squirls and birds. Just quiet.
