Description of event: I witnessed my original encounter on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia in August of 2004. From my subsequent investigations in my own state I feel they are intelligent based on the way they have their shelters facing the road at approximately a 500 ft distance, where passing cars cannot detect them. In the course of my investigations I've also found multiple snail shells behind thick bushes. There are no teeth marks in the shells, they appear to have been sucked clean, leaving only the shells behind. The deer and coyote react with fear when they are present, running for their lives. Please check my Youtube page. I have video of the shelter and rocks clapping together and possible howling when the tornado siren was going off, as if they were mocking it.
