Description of event: Woke up to dogs barking in distance. (Very wooded here) I turned radio on to get sound out. Then I heard other sounds which I thought was background noise on radio. When I realized it wasn't I got up. It sounded almost human through window like someone yelling in trauma. When I opened window, it definitely was not human, not a cougar, I have heard that.
Not coyote either. It sounded almost like an elk's first half of bugle but would stop at the top sound and then a pause and then a low sound. I listened to your sounds and it could have been like these. Very eerie and scary. I stood in the window about two minutes listening and got cold and thought it was creepy and went back to bed. It didn't last much longer after that.
