Location: On a 7 day rafting river trip on the Main Salmon river There was about 30 people with 6 river guides heard and smelled something really bad. Rotten eggs or a wet smelly dog.

REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: After a long day of rafting we stayed on sandy riverbank. After dinner the sounds of the forest went quite and still. There was a slight wind and them we smelled something very bad! Kind of like rotten eggs combined with the wet dog smell. Then there was this yell or scream, hard to describe, went from a lone moan to a high scream. This was followed by an answer from another from a distance. The river guides tried to tell us that this was a cougar but I don't think so. I sensed that the guides were a little scared also. They kept a big fire going all night. The next morning all the sounds of the forest were very still. I felt like something was watching us and no one said anything. After breakfast we loaded up and went back on down the river. The rest of the trip was uneventful. That night that we heard the sounds made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I was raised in Idaho till I was 16. I have hunted and fished most of the state. I've never heard anything like that since then. I've sent in a report to the BFRO about a year ago and never heard back from them. In the last 10 years I have read many books on bigfoot and the like. I have a few movies on the Subject. I am a person that belives that there is something out there. All the data and sightnings are very interesting. Many people I have talked to think I'm crazy and when I try to explain to them that there thousands of reports they think that we are seeing something that's not there. The legend of Sasquatch goes back to the Indians. I believe someday that someone will find one.
