REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: I was out with my friend on a camping trip. It was an odd trip because usually the south hills have a few campers up there, but on that day there weren't any. Anyway we set up camp a little bit farther into the woods than most and sat by the fire waiting to go to sleep. Around 11:00 or so I started hearing some sounds out in the woods. I thought it was a deer so I listened in closely. I wasn't really worried at this point. After hearing it a few more times I realized that my friend's dog also heard it. At that point I alerted my friend as to what I was hearing and what was going on. It was also at this point that I realized it wasn't a deer or wolf, because the steps sounded rather large and dense. Not just leaves being pushed about but actual foot steps. We decided whatever it was needed to leave before my friend's dog went after it and we had to chase him in the dark. So we grabbed a few rocks and tossed them out there. Nothing moved though, like we were expecting. I mean usually you toss a rock and the animal gets scared and takes off. This didn't though. After a minute or so we heard it moving again, so we grabbed bigger rocks, maybe the size of a baseball now and tossed them out there. Still nothing ran. At this point my friend's dog barks a few times, and then begins to whimper. I have alot of faith in animals, and when they show fear I am now convinced I should also be showing fear. I told my buddy we need to pack up and go. As were were packing our gear up we continued to hear something moving in the trees, closer now. So I pointed our truck that direction and turned on the brights. It seemed to push back whatever it was, we still heard foot steps, but farther away now then when I first heard the noise. The trees were pretty dense, we couldn't see more than 30 feet. As we were finishing loading, a couple small rocks were thrown our way. Nothing large, maybe the size of a ping pong ball, if even that. Also at this time it sounded as if it was almost stomping. Not really stomping, but heavier foot falls than before. I'm not sure what was out there, I don't think it was a person, because if I was out there and baseball sized rocks were being thrown, I'd get out. I don't think it was a deer or wolf because once again, large rocks were being thrown. I have no evidence it was a bigfoot, I'm not even sure if I consider it a bigfoot. I am a fan of it though and have read alot of personal encounters, and certain things appeared in this situation that seem to appear quite consistantly in others.
