Description of event: I sat down to dinner and my brother and I heard something scream at us. The sound was a long and very loud howl that ended with a whoop. We stop and look at each other both knowing we can't identify what was in the woods. No more than 20feet away My dogs laid behind a log with there tails tucked under and didn't move or make a sound. The birds and chimpmunks went silent. I have never seen my dogs act like this they bark at and chase everything so my brother and [I] head into the woods with a 45 caliber hand gun and a spotlight. The forest was to thick to see into. So we head back to camp and make the fire a little bit bigger and I know what bear, cougar, elk and game sound like. And, I don't know what that was so next time I go back I'm taking my camp trailer because whatever it was was very big and hand huge lungs
