REPORT DETAIL
Description of event: My husband was up hill of me on the trail about 100' ahead when we both heard a strong "Whoop, Whoop" sound deeper in the forest away from the trails. We both stopped at the same time and both of us are natives and have never heard an animal whoop in the woods. We listened to hear if it would repeat, it didn't. It was clear and deep and bit of a distance away. We continued on feeling the sound wasn't directed toward us and only saw one other person on the upper part of the trail the entire time of our hike.
