REPORT OVERVIEW

Siskiyou county, CA
Nearest town: Happy Camp
Nearest road: Elk River Road
Conditions: Clear
Time: late afternoon
Location: It was up the Elk River Road.

REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: I had been camping in the same area for several days, and was relatively familiar with the surrounding hills and valleys. I heard a sound on the road, went to check it out, and noticed this large, dark shape up the side of the mountain. The area in front of it was clear cut, logged in the recent years. And the creature stayed in the timber just beyond the logged area. I watched it for several minutes, recorded several minutes, but it never moved. It is easily discerned from the adjacent vegetation. Besides this incident, I've several more encounters/photographs I would be happy to share with you if you're so inclined and interested.
