Description of event: My buddy and I were deer hunting outside of Timber on an elk trail when we came upon a clear cut. We walked out and stood on a couple of tree stumps to get a better look around. The clear cut went down a canyon for about half mile or so and trees up the other side. All of a sudden we heard a hooping howling sound from the bottom of the canyon. We heard that sound 4 times going farther away. I turned to my buddy and we both knew exactly what we heard.
