Rick Shaffer and friend, Dan F., were going fishing in 1978. They had
crossed Mount Hood, and were descending on Hy. 26, when about 3:00 AM they
saw a big, black, creature cross the highway going to the southwest. This
was about two miles south of the Hy. 26-35 Junction (T4S R9E Sec. 6), OR.
