Description of event: My brother had been talking to some friends about Bigfoot when one of them told of a friend of theirs who had recently had an encounter. They went to visit him and he told them he had been riding his quad the Sunday before and was driving it back home at dusk, with his son on the back. His son pointed to a creature keeping pace with them about 30 yards away to the side. When the young man looked it scared him and he crashed the quad in a ditch and then picked up his son and ran home. They retrieved the quad the following day. The young man had never heard of Sasquatch or Bigfoot and would not go back into the area at night. My brother and four of his friends went to the location of the sighting the following Tuesday night. The location is at the far north end of Simi Valley which is owned by an oil company and the uninhabited wilderness goes back north for miles. That night around 9:00 p.m. they brought flash lights and roamed the field where the creature was seen. They heard plenty of crickets, rabbits, and night bugs but saw nothing. They decided to come back the next night and all was different. Again around 9:00 p.m. they heard no noises of any kind, no rabbits just total silence. When they started shining their flashlights around they saw something about 150 yards away poke its head around a boulder on the side of a dirt road above the field they were in. Every time they pointed the flashlight in the creature's direction it would duck back behind the huge rock. They decided to hike up to the road and see if they could see what it was. When they got within 50 yards of it they saw it run away down the road. It was between 7 and 8 feet tall and covered in hair. It made no sound and they didn't smell anything. Once the creature left, the night sounds returned and the rabbits came out. My brother took me to the site a week later during the early afternoon hours, and we hiked back a 1/2 mile and found a 17" foot print where the creature had stepped over a small depression. We kept hiking back into the wilderness which was now becoming dense with old oaks and tall reeds. We disturbed a huge white owl and I said to myself what are we going to do if we find this thing? We were 2 miles away from the nearest home and our car and the wilderness is getting more dense as we hiked further back. We decided to leave the area and have never returned. My brother did lay a tape measure next to the track and took phtotgraphs.
