Dorian Thomas says he talked to a friend that had been camping with his
girlfriend on the Snake River in Hells Canyon, OR, 5-6 years ago. They had
come in by way of jet boat, and were dropped off for a week's camping, and
the boat left. Every night they had something getting in their backpacks and
throwing rocks from up on the hill...the only way out, straight up the
cliffs. At night they huddled in the tent while something went through the
camp, got in the backpacks, and scared the daylights out of them. Their
first daylight sighting was in the evening light as they were having dinner.
When they saw the big furry thing up on the ridge. At first they smelled it,
it reeked. Then they looked up as rocks started sliding, and the 7 1/2 or 8
foot creature grunted at them a few times and walked off. Dorian says he'll
try to get his friend to come in for a first-hand interview.
