Description of event: We were camping. We heard noises at first, heavy footsteps. There was a terrible smell, but we were near swampland, so that isn't unusual. We heard some noises behind our camp and we had lanterns and a fire lit, so couldn't see very well. Whatever it was, was crouched behind a barb wire fence, we only saw a shadow and then it stood up and was over 7 ft tall....it went very quietly back in the woods. There were 4 of us sitting around the camp and although we were scared, none of us felt threatened, we felt more like we were being watched, observed. That was a long time ago. I have thought about this many times, but have never really talked about it. I have been watching the show on OLN and it brought everything back with clarity. My case is so similar to the others. There has to be something out there. I don't know if anyone else ever saw anything at Lake Arbuckle, but the local kids at that time did have a lot of jokes about the swamp monster.
