REPORT DETAIL

Description of event: First off, I'd like to make it known that this didn't happen to me. It happened to my Dad and my uncle, and my Dad has told me about it on numerous occasions. Basically, he's computer illiterate so I'm putting this on for him.

My Dad and my uncle hiked into Yapoah lake back in the 70's to do some fishing. I guess their weren't any roads in to the lake so they had to use a compass.

They fished all day and made camp to stay the night. When it got dark they started hearing something walking in the bushes not far from them. There was no on else there, so naturally they were scared. Eventually the noises got to them so packed up all their gear and began to hike out. This is the interesting part. Whatever lurked in the forest followed them all the way back to their car in dark. My Dad said that whenever they stopped walking to take a compass reading it would suddenly stop. When they started walking again, so did it.

I'm only reporting this because I live in a wilderness area with all sorts of wildlife, including grizzly. This does not seem to fit the normal behavior of such animals.

I'm also reporting this because of the fear level they experienced. My Dad is not easily scared and is also an experienced outdoorsman. He said this encounter was one of the scariest things that has ever happened to him. Could he have experienced the invisible wall of fear so many others claim to have encountered when they contact a bigfoot?
